Managing Funded Accounts: Don't Blow It

The Mental Shift: Challenge account (aggressive) vs Funded account (conservative). Most traders fail by keeping challenge mindset on funded account.

Funded Account Rules (Typical): Max daily loss 5%, max monthly loss 10%, max drawdown 10%. Hit any = account closed.

Conservative Strategy: Risk 0.5% per trade (not 1%). Gives you 200 trades before max drawdown vs 100 at 1% risk. More trades = more time to prove edge.

Focus on Consistency, Not Profit: Month 1: Don't lose money. Break even or small profit OK. Months 2-3: Consistent small profit (0.5-1% monthly). Months 4+: Scale gradually as you prove consistency.

The Long-Term Play: Funded account = 1-2 year opportunity. Don't blow it in month 1. Most prop traders fail by trying $10K in month 1. Successful ones make $1K month 1, $2K month 2, $3K month 3. By month 12: $15K+ monthly.

Action Plan: Set first 3-month goal: Take 5-10 trades/week, maintain 55%+ win rate, don't hit max daily loss. Execute boring plan. By month 4, you'll beat 95% of prop traders.
